Endeavour for Better Interoperability
Black Pear are delighted to announce contribution of resources and IP to Endeavour Health’s project to create an open source interoperability framework for the NHS.
New charity Endeavour Health has been founded by Dr David Stables, co-founder of EMIS, to kickstart better information sharing within the NHS. Stables said that “the glue of interoperability between health and social care is too important to be left to any one supplier” but is vital to deliver the vision NHS England have laid out in Personalised Health and Care 2020.
Dr David Jehring, CEO at Black Pear said “I founded Black Pear to use emerging technology to deliver healthcare in new ways. One of them missing pieces of the jigsaw is the ability to share data between care providers. I welcome David Stables’ innovation and I’m keen to support it.”
Initially, Dr Dunmail Hodkinson, CTO at Black Pear and a board member of HL7 UK, will be seconded to Endeavour Health as an adviser on GP system interoperability, drawing on Black Pear’s experience working in primary care IT and pioneering use of the emerging HL7 FHIR standard.
Dunmail said,
of technology to support the health of everyone in the UK.
