Black Pear provides interoperability between Vision and EMIS
Black Pear’s interoperability framework, pyrusConnect, forms an integral part of the INPS solution used to allow Vision practices to read and write data to and from EMIS Web practices. The solution will be implemented to enable Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge CCGs (BDHR) deliver its Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund initiative to extend access to GP services.
BDHR have allocated three care centres to provide appointments outside of normal practice opening hours for all patients across the combined CCG area. Two of these centres are based at existing GP practices and the third is located within a hospital.
All GP practices across the BDHR area use a combination of Vision and EMIS Web. Using Black Pear’s pyrusConnect, all patient records will be made available within Vision at the allocated care centres and after consultations, outcomes will be posted back to the originating GP system.
pyrusConnect is an integration framework which allows disparate systems to exchange healthcare data and has been implemented using the recently published HL7 FHIR standard.
